Mom, are we there yet?

Many of our families have been held up in the road construction project located along Route 910 this week- what a bummer!

Keep road work and traffic delays in mind as you plan your route to and from CYM a make your commute a breeze by using this handy constriction tracker from PennDot. Simply open the link below and choose "Southwestern Region (Pittsburgh)" in the drop down box provided.

Turn in Your Contact Preferences Form

Have you filled out a Contact Preferences sheet for your family yet?

Pick up a sheet at the Wexford Desk or in Sewickley bin and place in the folder provided.

...But I thought I gave you my information- why do I have to fill this out?

Many of our returning families have already provided us their information, but if you look closely at the form, we would like to know how to best contact you during the year. We will need to reach you during the year about anything from rescheduling your child's lesson to special performances to emergency situations.  Also, many families forget to update us when they have moved or changed their phone number. This form insures the right message gets to the right person at the right time!

A great big thank you to the families who have already turned in their forms!

Welcome Back!

This week is just flying by, and it has been so nice seeing all of the friendly faces back at CYM! As you get back into the flow of your routine this Fall, familiarize yourself once again with CYM's policies and routines this school year:
  • Teachers are handing out the new Parent Guide 2010-2011 to all students as well as binders and CYM totes for new families. Returning families, if you need a new tote or binder to replace yours, be sure to ask for one! The Parent Guide is also located on our website at www.youngmusicians.org by clicking on the "Resources" tab and selecting "Parents Page." ***Please note: the page is password protected, so be sure to ask your teacher for the Username and Password, or call 724-935-0505 to reach an Administrator who would be happy to help you!
  • Remember to remove your shoes when you arrive! Little ones play in the waiting rooms and play areas of each location, and keeping outside dirt outside is essential to keeping everyone healthy!
  • Remember also to wash your hands before and after your class or lesson. It is important to wash your hands to keep germs and pathogens from spreading from person to person. Please read and use the instructions posted in our Wexford and Sewickley facilities on the proper way to wash your hands.
  • Keep our children safe in our Wexford location by following our parking protocol:
    • When you pull in to the lot, back in to your parking spot so you are pulling forward to leave. This is so you are not backing up toward the school entrance where children may be entering or exiting.
    • Cars pull in the driveway entrance to the right of the building, and exit out of the driveway to the left. This way vehicles are not colliding as they enter/exit.
    • Please do not park in the horizontal area outside of the back entrance. Vehicles cannot pull around your car to exit.
    • There is additional parking in a small lot in the front of the building. Be sure to use it if the back lot is full.
We want all of our families to have a safe and happy school year here at CYM! Please feel free to contact your teacher or an Administrator with any questions you may have. Send your inquiries to:
